Maa Hadimba Devi Temple

The Hadimba Devi Temple is an architectural and spiritual masterpiece located amidst the towering deodar trees of the Dhungari Van Vihar. Built in 1553, this ancient four-story wooden structure is dedicated to Goddess Hadimba, the wife of Bhima from the epic Mahabharata. Unlike traditional Hindu temples, it features a unique pagoda-style roof and intricate wood carvings of animals, deities and cosmic wheels that reflect the region’s rich tribal heritage. The temple is built over a massive natural cave, where the deity is said to have meditated.
